"Generation of Critical Irradiation Data to Enable Digital Twinning of Molten Salt Reactors" was presented by MIT's Gordon Kohse at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's 2021 Molten-Salt Reactor Workshop.
Program Objectives:
Design, irradiate, and quantitatively analyze an integrated test facility for the production and transport of radioactive material in a molten fuel salt
Safety analysis and handling of high temperature fuel salt
Improved radiation transport and CFD predictions for molten salt
Model development for radionuclide generation and transport in liquid, gas, and solid phases
Extend previous static salt irradiation experience to larger quantities and natural convection
Implement a radiation field imaging facility using newly developed directional detection algorithms
