ThorCon's Thorium Converter Reactor - Lars Jorgensen in Bali

2 min read

Lars Jorgensen's presentation in Bali was captured and edited by Bob Effendi. Bob's original edit can be found here.

Bob supplied me with his original capture footage so I could try edit my own version, to see if I could improve the audio quality using iZotope RX7 audio tools in Premiere Pro. I do prefer my own audio version, although I don't really think either sound great.

There's some tightening-up. Some different visuals.

I've also included brief audio snippets from Rod Adam's podcast "Atomic Show", as Lars made some clarifying (audio) remarks after the Bali footage was shot... Indonesia's capital city of Jakarta endured an 8-hour blackout during their visit.

If you saw the earlier edit, there's not enough new here to warrant your time. If you never watched Lars give an in-depth presentation on ThorCon, it is worth your time.

Thorium: The Far Side of Nuclear

Still working on this, mostly just enabling Takashi Kamei to translate English version into Japanese. (That is, Takashi did the hard work.)

Japanese is now percolating on Amazon, might be available by next post.

John has English distribution rights, and we're breaking it up into chapters. So far 3 are online. They're region-locked to North America.

Mike Shellenberger's "Apocalypse Never"

I picked up a copy. Just 4 chapters in, pretty good read so far. Mostly stuff I've heard him say before but was looking forward to hearing some more details.

And people are pissed. Holy gee. Apparently reviewing books without having read them is a thing.

As a guy who's generally quite concerned about global warming, I'll let you know what I think when I'm done. But if you weren't somehow aware it existed, probably something worth knowing.

(...hey sorry if there's something important I'm forgetting I'm trying to do a brain dump and just gotta hit publish here.)
