Thorium Remix 2016 p01 "NASA" v20160215

2 min read

Finished integrating MacBook-captured narration into the first chapter.

Am still checking audio levels and tweaking it. On the current pass I've only made it 1h into p01. So you might find missing visuals or audio after that point. And I plan to make a 3rd pass to see if there's any more Kilowatts music opportunities.

But basically, this is the first chapter. This is what I'd like to use to introduce the topic of Thorium, Molten Salt Reactors, and Nuclear Power to a wider audience. I personally like it, and it is the sort of thing I'd enjoy watching myself.

I'm still open to feedback and fact-checking, but one broad criticism that I also worried about myself... that the extrapolation from Mars to Earth is too repetitive... I agree: I certainly am making the same point repeatedly.

But I think I should go with it. And p01 "NASA" is going to more-or-less be this length.

MANY CHAPTERS

Because the rest of the project looks like it will still take months (based on how long it is taking me to clean up p01) I think it is worth considering releasing this chapter temporarily, on its own. And I'd publicly refer to this as a peer review process.

Not THIS version... I'll iterate again first. (And please do NOT release this version, or release anything to the public.) I'm only opening this idea up for discussion right now.

My thinking, and my big question to discussion to all of you, is would doing so be useful, to the broad goal of advancing MSR understanding? Specifically, during the 2-or-so months it will take to finish the remaining chapters.

I need the flexibility to go back and make changes, as I re-organize the middle chapters, so I do not want to release videos one at a time. I'll probably be making changes to p02 p03 p04 based on how p05 p06 p07 are re-organized.

So while the first chapter is almost done, and the last chapter is mostly done, the middle stuff will still be revised substantially. It just won't be releasable in chronological order... except for the first chapter.

Ideally I'd release it all at once. I think I could promote it better that way. But then we'd have to wait to see any utility from this.

Any thoughts?

2016-02-18 UPDATE

Have checked entire video 1x. Many super-tiny improvements. Just swapping-in newer version as no sense anyone watch an older version if they're just just checking it out now.

Still more (very minor) improvements in the pipeline.
