Thorium Remix 2016 v20161102

1 min read

Another iteration, more missing visuals filled in. We now continue into Pebbles, and I start to cover conventional reactors when I hit the not-done portion at 3h19m.

This is the first full-length render I've done using WebM codec. Am very happy to report it works with 6h content to YouTube.

Again, a 6h video won't directly have an huge impact, but the remixability of it will. I'm sacrificing what every-day YouTube viewers would want (shortness and chapters) for the ability to reference any point in narrative with a simple HH:MM:SS timecode.

While I'm still getting most work done at 3am, all the Gord-vs-PC and Gord-vs-PPro issues seem stable. No more futzing around with codecs to get renders on YouTube... Presently no technical issues. Knock on wood.

The New Fire

I'm not actually sure who coined the term "The New Fire". I first heard it spoken by Kirk Sorensen in 2011, and he was quoting Rod Adams who had been using the term way back in 2007.

Well, now it is the name of a pro-nuclear doc in development.

I've spoken to the director David Schumacher, and gotten to see a bit more footage than shown in the teaser. He's got some great stuff captured.

You might want to give Schumacher your email so you can keep tabs on New Fire's development.
