I forgot to mention in the previous update, that TR2016-NASA has been translated into Portuguese by Pedro Glória.
With YouTube Analytics, I can see this only gets a handful of regular views, but some do reach the end (based on view duration).
Every few days someone in Portugal is getting the full TR2016 experience (watching the whole thing) due to Pedro's volunteered translation work.
Thank you very much Pedro!
So Danish and Portuguese as now the 2 non-English languages TR2016-NASA is available in.
v20170122 @ 3h20m
While many man-hours were wasted battling PPro, here's what I actually accomplished since my last update...
In the previous version I shared there's a "thoughts" section between 3h20 to 3h36, where instead of exploring nuclear tech, I start introducing framing devices like AP1000 and Dr. Helen Caldicott.
That has been tweaked and re-dubbed. My "sss" sounds were awful and continue to be awful. (Shoot me.) But they're better. I'm editing the waveforms by hand... I don't know what else to do.
v20170122 @ 4h39m
I had a truly terrible opinion moment about existing nuclear industry which existed at v20161229 4h40m. It was just poory written, and has been replaced by me instead showing Germany's 2016 continued dependence on coal (using music and pie-chart instead of narration). v20160122 at 4h39m to see that improvement.
Sometimes I don't know how bad something is until I put it together, let time pass, and re-watch it. That moment truly sucked.
v20170122 @ 4h40m
And from 4h40m forward, up until 5h26m is a significant re-think. If you're keeping an eye on the project, that'd be the 46 minutes of work I'd check out.
That is me introducing the notion that facts are absent from some anti-nuclear propaganda. It uses the old Penn & Teller "ban di-hydrogen carbon monoxide" petition to illuistrate how fact-free things can get when nobody is being held to account.
We bounce back and forth between banning di-hydrogen-carbon-monoxide and Dr. Helen Caldicott's perscription of burning candles.
I think it is pretty entertaining, hope you do too.
Gord vs Premiere Pro
The battle continues.
Yesterday Adobe released PPro2017.0.2.
It was not a smooth upgrade for me... a couple viable working hours were spent trying to figure out why hundreds of video clips were suddenly off-line. Re-linking them resulted in a loss of audio channels. I think I've fixed it now, but that was panic inducing.
Unfortunately, neither bug I'd filed with Adobe for PPro2017.0.1 was fixed.
With PPro2017.0.2, it still forgets Audio Renders.
And it still prompts me to click "OK" 1/2 way thru loading the project. Every. Single. Time.
(That's what is called a "Modal Window". There is a time and a place for a Modal Window. Half-way thru the opening of a project is not one of them.)
Assuming I can solve the missing-audio-tracks problem, I do have a workflow for TR2016 that minimizes the impact of forgotten Audio Renders.
This was figured out with help of Adobe Support... basically I bake-in audio effects to 48kHz, I make sure there's no 44.1kHz sequences, and I split up sequences to be as small as possible.
So things do progress.
I am writing this now because... PPro is rendering audio!
Depending how long that takes, I'll either have a very productive 1/2 day today or... not.
(Once or twice a week I can actually get a chunk of time. I work until PPro crashes. If PPro is already recovering from a crash by re-rendering audio... then I do not work on TR2016.)
