Thorium Remix 2016 v20170204

2 min read

5h25m to 5h55m is where the most significant improvements can be seen, that's basically everything touching on Star Trek and Shellenberger.

Also modified is the year-by-year recap, with 2016 having been added. I show a quick moment from the MSRE doc released by ORNL, and mention that Peter Thiel was joining ("President Elect") Donald Trump's transition team. (We know today he became the tech-advisor but I'm trying to make late-2016 the cut-off.)

So I believe the entire timeline is finally assembled, with only some known trouble-spots. And likely some unknown issues, but I'll be watching it and trying to find them.

Here are outstanding issues that I plan to address:

- 02h07m50s Do all opening-title credit people appear in doc? (Eg. Robert Hargraves, Alex Cannara.)

- How does music hold-up from chapter to chapter?

- Any repeated sequences? (That are not done intentionally like some key Helen Caldicott statements.)

- Any audio issues. (For example the dead-silent Robert Stone in "Th" chapter "Dr. Helen Caldicott" when being played back in mono.)

- End credits will alphabetically scroll thru crowdfunders of KickStarter and Patreon.

And beyond editing, I still need to get KiloWatts to allow YouTube-wide remixing of his music. I needed to finish this edit to determine if there were any new musical tracks I was about to use. I don't think so, but need to watch it and see if any moments seem particularly flat without music.

(KiloWatts "white-listing" all of YouTube for some of his tracks might be a very awkward process... I don't want to come back a 2nd time with additional track that needs white-listing.)

Boring Premiere Pro Note

So I still have an issue, that is "hundreds of video clips were suddenly off-line" ...they are still off-line!

Problems only  exist in older sequences... still part of TR2016, but not sequences that I was sure I still need to fix... basically I watch this edit, see if I need to fix a sequence that has an off-line clip, if so then panic.

Because I've been able to work without those clips, I just kept working until I hit a wall... and haven't hit the wall yet.

So that's a looming problem but I'll just have to deal with it when I need to. If I can get TR2016 out-the-door then I'd like to have TR2016 educating folk while I deal with that issue.

(And yes, I do need to deal with it. Part of the remix plan is to offer identical copies of the doc but with-and-without music... and with-and-without narration... so people can try find better narrators or try find music they prefer. I need all my clips working to render out music-free video.)
