An old 1968 MSRE promotional video that they recently found at ORNL was shown at our workshop last night. It is absolutely outstanding. I could not believe the technical accuracy and the wealth of footage including while they were building it. A true gold mine. ORNL promises to put it online soon… -David
Dr. David LeBlanc was correct in both "excellent" and "soon". I was just about to spend (waste!) money on an old piece of stock footage that contained a glimpse of MSRE in it, when David gave me a heads-up...
The cost for a master QT of the entire clips is $385 plus $150 for a total of $535. Please also let us know what master SD QT format you want–Apple Pro Res 422 or H.264.
Thanks, - Charles ( @ Footage Farm )
I just checked with Myriam Tonelotto and even Myriam did not have access to this when creating "Thorium - The Far Side of Nuclear Power"... all the MSRE film shown there was from the same piece of stock footage! (Footage I didn't know existed until seeing far-side-of-nuclear.)
I'll be revising TR2016-p01-NASA in conjunction with TR2016-p02 release to no longer say there's no MSRE footage. Rather I'll point out this doc has never, ever, seen the light of day until 2016. And revise the timeline of accomplishments to include ORNL's release of this doc.
2016. What a year. Thorium & MSRE communication assets galore.
